Being an author and a reader, I get bogged down in the "It's all about books" world. Not such a bad thing. I'm curious how books impacted you in 2010 and what you are looking for in 2011 in the way of a good read. So first last year. Please record in the comments so others can share your enthusiasm. Wow, I haven't been to this blog in a long time --I love the new look!!!

1. Best book of 2010?
So many great books by my favorite authors were released this --er, last year, but I'll give it to "The Healer's Apprentice" by Melanie Dickerson, since it was the first time I've ever been so excited about a book by an author whose work I've never read (coming from a person who normally must read a book first before buying, that's saying a lot).

2. Worst book of 2010?
Um, I can't think of any off the top of my head.

3. Most Disappointing Book of 2010?
They weren't published in 2010, but I finally read the last two books in "The Lost Books" series by Ted Dekker and it felt like a let down like "Green" was. =(

4. Most surprising (in a good way!) book of 2010?
"Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball" by Donita K. Paul --I love her fantasy novels, so I wondered how a different genre would be... but it was cute! I still prefer the Chronicles though. =D

5. Book you recommended to people most in 2010? Um, once I read it, probably "The Healer's Apprentice" by Melanie Dickerson.

6. Best series you discovered in 2010? The O'Connor series "Daughters of Boston" and "Winds of Change" trilogies by Julie Lessman. High-school and up, but ... it's addicting! I'm so attached to the characters that I must find out what happens next year ... plus, "Ms." Julie is so sweet, a pleasure to interact with online =D

7. Favorite new authors you discovered in 2010? =D Melanie Dickerson ... and Julie Lessman (even though she's not "new" to the publishing industry).

8. Most hilarious or sweet/cute read of 2010? Sweet/cute: "The Healer's Apprentice" by Melanie Dickerson.

9. Most thrilling, unputdownable book in 2010? Unputdownable: Anything by Julie Lessman --I mean to read just a couple of chapters and end up staying up until 3:30am to finish it! =P

10. Book you most anticipated in 2010? "The Healer's Apprentice" by Melanie Dickerson (Not counting books by Donita K. Paul, Bryan Davis, and Wayne Thomas Batson.)

11. Most memorable character in 2010?
Ben Skywalker in the "Fate of the Jedi" series --Oh my word, he's growing up fast. ;-)

12. Most beautifully written book in 2010?
"The Healer's Apprentice" by Melanie Dickerson. =)

13. Book that had the greatest impact on you in 2010?
"The Healer's Apprentice" by Melanie Dickerson. Wow, I just could relate to the main character's thoughts and mind so much ....

Now for 2011, what do you want most? Choose one in each catagory.

romance, drama, comedy, western, sci-fi, fantasy, historical, mystery, suspense, contemporary

Romance fantasy would be kind of cute, wouldn't it? (Think the light wizard and her knight.) ;-)

Male lead or female lead character
Hmm, either .... how about both?

page turner or thought provoker
Both --page turner that also makes you think.

short book or long book

LONG!!! =)

single title or series.
Series!!
