My latest book, Praying for Your Future Husband: Preparing Your Heart for His has recently released.
If you've ever been to my blog, It's Real Life, you've heard my two cents here and here and here. Now I'd like to hear from you.
Are you praying for your future husband? Why or why not? What do you pray for? Have you lost hope? Do you think it matters?
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Leave a comment and on June 22, I'll choose one winner to receive a copy of Praying for Your Future Husband.
More about the book: Have you ever thought about praying for your future husband?
Will it make a difference?
There's only one way to find out…
From when we were small girls, most of us dream of “The One,” our future husband. We think about what it would be like to be a bride. We wonder who that special guy is and when we'll find him. The great news is that what you do now can make a difference in your life and the life of your future husband!
Authors and good friends Robin Jones Gunn (Christy Miller series) and Tricia Goyer (author and former teen mom) believe God answers women's prayers for husbands—even husbands they may not meet for years. They invite young women to pray boldly for their future mate … while also asking God to prepare their own hearts.
In Praying for Your Future Husband, Robin and Tricia share their two vastly different experiences, including the things they did right and the mistakes they made on the path to meeting and marrying their husbands. Each chapter includes helpful Bible verses, prayers, and practical application, along with true stories of women who prayed for a husband and how God answered in remarkable ways.
God has a beautiful romance prepared for you. Prayer is the key to unlocking the love story … with your future husband and with God, the lover of your soul.

Absolutely love the concept of this book! And, yes, I regularly pray for and about my future husband.
Concerning things I pray for him, here are a few:
1. That his intimacy with the Lord is increasing daily
2. That he and his family are in excellent health (mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical)
3. That he is working with God to resolve personal issues/problems
4. That he will always put God first, above me or anyone or anything else in his life
5. That he will be endlessly devoted and attracted to me, my spirit, my mind, my body and personality and delight in me all the days of our lives
In the end, I simply pray that God will bless me with His best :)
Hey Tricia, I read the first chapter of "Praying for Your Future Husband" when you posted the link on your twitter, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I recently got out of a 3+ year long distance relationship with my boyfriend. In the beginning of the relationship (I was 15- he was my first and only bf)I was sure that we would get married and be together forever...that was the plan. We always tried to keep God at the center of our relationship,so I was extremely shocked when I started to doubt whether or not I really wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Throughout the duration of the relationship I noticed some personality qualities I wasn't too fond of (somewhat controlling, extremely jealous, etc). I wrote a list of everything I wanted my "Man of God" to have some years before meeting him, and I thought he completed the list, but I guess there were qualities that I forgot. He was, and is still completely devastated about the breakup( says he wont be with anyone else), but I received confirmation that I made the correct decision.
Anyways, that was just some background knowledge about my situation. It's been 2 months since the breakup and I'm finding myself in a position that I'm not to familiar with. I know God has the right person out there for me, but I am very reluctant about getting in another relationship. I just want to focus on God. I tried praying for my future husband after reading the first chapter of the book and it felt great, but I'm not extremely sure what to pray for. What if I'm missing something? and Is he really out there?
I used to pray, and now you remembered me not to give up praying. Thank you, it made my day!!
I want to be a good wife, so when I pray for my husband, I also pray for myself. When I pray, it helps me to concentrait on my duties, because I want to be prepared in every way, when we meet:)

I do pray for my future husband more than ever now. When I was 17 I had felt like I knew who the one was, but things turned into the beginning of Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet. But even after we broke up,I prayed on it, I realized that I was definitely wrong in how I prayed for the future guy I thought God had for me. Just the other day, while reading in 2 Corinthians, I realized that I need to pray for my future husbands Spiritual needs, pray for him to stay him meek like Paul was, and not to give up when all are against him. I have lots more to learn, though :D
I have heard of many girls who have prayed for their future husbands and the prayer absolutely works! Why not pray?
I speak with God continually about a husband ... then, I wonder, at my age (58) do I really want to do that. Maybe I should just have a companion. I have to leave it in My Father's hands because I have no idea what is best for me at this point, yet being alone is not something I want to consider. I remind Him, He can take one of my ribs while I sleep ...

I am only 15, a sophmore in highschool and I have made the choice to not date, but to instead pray for my husband. God has laid on my heart a common theme of waiting. Though I sometimes wonder, on what exactlly? It's frustrating at times. I wonder if what I'm doing now will really make a difference later. Me, never have read your book ever, just seeing the tittle of it is so encouraging. Going to public school, where everyones focus is relationships, this book allows me to see I'm not the only one choosing to wait and pray. It's a daily battle for me. I've learned that God wants to do something in my life while I'm waiting. I want to be the absolutle best wife I possibly can be. In the waiting, God is making me that.
